Invisible to telescopic eye

I felt reasonably normal this morning after a long sleep so headed into town, astride Madame Fidra in case I ran out of steam and needed go home early.  I made a pit stop at Cameron Toll en route as I had left the house without any headache meds or Beecham's stuff.  As it turned out, I felt reasonably normal all day and didn't need to reach for them, and actually did a bit more than my hours.

But I didn't go riding around the place the long way going home, just straight back.  For a while I followed someone driving a modern Dodge Charger, a huge black hunk of USAnian automobilia, and the driver was taking every opportunity to drop back by a couple of car lengths and then hit the loud pedal for half a second.  Petrol must be cheaper than I thought.

While in town I saw that the famously telescope-shaped Nelson Monument on Calton Hill is still under wraps.  They're restoring both the stonework (again – it was done in 2009!) and the 1853 time ball, which I watched working a few years ago but now they are restoring it with long term durability and a keen eye on originality.
