AT THE MATCH
Didn't sleep too well but I had to be up early-ish as Jackie from next door messaged yesterday to say she was going to pop round this morning to discuss " the fence ". The fence between our front gardens fell down a while back and she's been trying to get someone to put up a new one. She's been let down a few times but apparently someone is coming tomorrow to do it. It will be nice to have a fence there again. I offered to pay half but she wouldn't accept anything.
As I was up and about early I got on with a few chores before getting a bus to Newcastle. Newcastle United had a home game against Manchester United - kick off 4.30pm.
Our Head Coach Eddie Howe wasn't there today as he's in hospital. ( Get well soon Eddie ) So the second in command Jason Tindall was in charge. His nickname is " Mad Dog " as he gets quite passionate on the touchline and often gets into trouble with the referee.. He was cool, calm and collected today keeping his team motivated.. and he avoided getting into bother.
The game was a good one - if you were a Newcastle United supporter. The final score was Newcastle 4 Manchester Utd 1. Its the first time since the 1930-31 season that Newcastle have beaten Man Utd twice in the same season. Mind you the Man Utd team of today are nowhere near as good as their previous teams. They are going through a rough patch. Tonight Newcastle are 4th in the table .... and Manchester United are 14th.
My collage shows my favourite player Fabian Schar and the flag displays in honour of Kevin Keegan - a Newcasle United legend. Couldn't get good shots of the flags from where I sit so these two photos are the best of the bunch.
No trouble getting a bus home after the match... it was full but I got a seat.
The weather today was dry but a lot cooler than its been in the last few days.
