Now, as I see it......

Hambleton Hall

After going abroad three times last year, this year we decided we would stay in the UK and have a few different shorter breaks (although I'm not ruling out a short trip somewhere warm a bit later in the year if we feel like it).  We fancied a few days in a nice country house hotel so today we drove over to Hambleton Hall in Rutland where we will be staying for the next three nights.  The sat nav brought us on a rather strange route down a couple of very narrow lanes on the way over to Kings Lynn but I suspect there was a traffic problem it picked up on the normal route as a broken down lorry was causing long tailbacks in the other direction after we eventually joined the road I expected.

The hotel is lovely; this is a shot of the front of it and our room is quite large and very comfortable.  The hotel is almost completely surrounded by Rutland water, a reservoir which, when flooded, left this spit of land in the middle.  We know the area fairly well as it isn't too far from where we used to live, so we know there is plenty to do in the area.  And the hotel has a Michelin Star, so we're rather hoping the food will be good.  I may not have a lot of time to look at blips for the rest of this week!
