It's not me; that doorway isn't central to the arch!

We had a drive into Oakham after breakfast in the hotel to get my newspaper (the hotel provide one but as I'm a subscriber to my normal paper we thought we'd get the hotel to supply something different).  It's quite a long time since I was there and I'd forgotten how disappointing a place it is.  A nice little market square next to the school but other than that it's all a bit run down.

We then headed off to a National Trust property; Belton House, which was about a 25 minute drive away.  An interesting house to look around and some nice gardens, with two 'formal' gardens and a conservatory to look around.  It stayed dry but the weather wasn't great; a bit cold and cloudy, but we still enjoyed it.  I took this shot of a door in the side of the main house taken through an arch into the stable block.  The house was built first, but you would have thought when they built the stables they would have built the arch a few inches to the right so the door looked central!
