Maidstone Model Engineering Society, Mote Park.
Posted a blip of the Engineering Society on 16th June 2013 just after vandals had stolen a large section of their track. Happily the track has been fully replaced and rides are back in full swing. My son, socal1984, has been posting blips so I downloaded the app (Pic Stitch) and this is my first attempt. I like it although using the Iphone is not the easiest way to take shots of moving images.
The engines are Tornado in green, featured on 16th June, Duchess of Hamilton (without streamlining) in red and 63475 in black, a model of the 2-8-0 O3 Class locomotive built by Gresley in 1913 for the Great Northern Railway. Scrapped in 1951.
We were on another of our customary walks, again to Mote Park, on another lovely sunny day. The threatened rain for the morning did not materialise so I was able to spend a short time at the allotment picking beans and courgettes and sowing spinach and the final lot of leeks.
A bit more revison for the railway followed before we went on our walk. Talked to my son in California via Facetime. Marvellous technology as he was walking the dog and was communicating via 3G.
