Lazy, easy summer days

Down at the Green in Bearsted, at the Oak on the Green enjoying a refreshing drink on tonight's walk.

Arrived at the gym to find it mysteriously closed so had to go back home for a shower and a shave (me not the wife) Spent an hour of so catching up with emails and tasks then went to the allotment to clear the brassica cage.

After lunch, more railway revision after getting news that a colleague from our course had passed out as a signalman at Wittersham yesterday, so that was good news. His tips and information about his experiences will prove valuable.

Rang a few people, made arrangements to travel up to Shropshire later this month and booked a night in a hotel in London for New Year's Eve as we plan to go up to see the New Year celebrations. Should be good - and got a good deal through Quidco and Lastminute giving a 10% discount and a 5% cashback

Went outside this evening to see if I could spot the Perseid meteor shower but nothing seen as it was a bit cloudy. Gained a stiff neck. The shower is apparently caused by the earth passing through the debris from the tail of the Swift-Tuttle comet. The comet itself will not be around until 2125 but the earth passes through debris from the comet on its annual migration around the sun.

So passed another very satisfactory day.
