Rainbow Springs Trip

We waited to see what the weather held for us today before making the decision to go to Rainbow Springs in Rotorua. Nanny and Pop joined us and we headed off mid morning. Aren't these ducks beautiful?

Bailee, Oscar and Maple were very interested and excited by the birds and wildlife. They were especially desperate to see a real kiwi and we all got to in the end. They are nocturnal birds so there was a special dark den where we could view them. Did you know that only 5% of kiwi chicks survive :-(

Maple was particularly curious today. This is the first trip somewhere that I have seen her so fascinated by what was there. She loved watching the ducks in the water.

We all had a yummy lunch at a very child friendly cafe in town called 'Capers'. There are children's activity kits. a play area and a diverse menu.

Oscar is having a night with Nanny and Pop tonight. I can't remember the last time Oscar and Bailee were seperated for the night.... Bailee went to bed insisting on reading "Oscar's stories for Oscar". She wanted Oscar to be next to her and has gone to sleep cuddling his blue ba and Nana the monkey.
