The Leopard...

A wonderful day on safari in the African bush.  Set out at 6am and another amazing discovery - the guide was also an old friend who I had gone to South Luwangwa with on two previous occasions, so we had great fun!

We saw lots of animals and it was difficult to choose which one to blip - elephant, puku, impala, hippo, hyena, buffalo, lion, leopard and many others including amazing birdlife!  I love this park but unfortunately for me (and fortunately for the people) it is becoming more accessible and so more tourists are going there!  The highlight of my day was this leopard - our guide literally tracked him through the bush and took us off road through the bush in the vehicle to find him.  What a glorious sight - we followed him through the bush and then he sat down in the long grass and posed for us for a few minutes before strolling off!

When I was last in South Luwangwa lion were easily seen and leopard were few and far between - nowadays lion are very few in the park and leopard have increased in number!  A wonderful day!
