Hyena...

Had rather a sleepless night as there were elephant in the camp munching on the trees around our chalet! Didn't mind a bit though! Out again this morning on an early drive - fabulous sunrise and lots more animals - again it was difficult to choose which one to blip but I finally settled on this hyena. He was wandering around as if he was lost but in actual fact he was waiting for the leopard to finish eating the impala that he had killed! Wonderful light in the bush this morning - it is really dry and hot and I just love it!

Later on in the evening we came across a leopard who had killed an antelope a few days earlier and taken the carcass up a tree - he had come back to feed on it and a hyena was wandering around the base of the tree ....waiting... I hope he was successful in his wait!!
