The Watchful Soldier

During our walk today we, literally, took the high road which set this blip up nicely to show the soldier keeping a watchful eye over the park.

The monument itself commemorates the men of the Highland Light Infantry lost in the South African Boer War (1899-1902). The monument is so detailed I always admire it as I go past but the way he is sitting always catches my eye as it is quite unusual.

A nice relaxing afternoon, exactly what Sunday afternoons should be! Jen was doing some writing and I was catching up on some blog posts. Really enjoyed just chilling out and recharging a bit before Monday morning comes around again!
