It's a dog's life

No rain today so the boys played tennis this morning and then played 9 holes of golf this afternoon. While they were busy doing that I was out walking Murdoch. He had a lovely walk around the village this morning, and then was 'parked' in the dog waiting area while I went into the supermarket to get rolls for lunch. They are very dog friendly here - dogs are allowed into any restaurant, no matter how smart, and on the buses and trains. Outside all the shops they have little hooks to tie the dog lead on to. Dogs obviously have to behave and their owners have to pick up poop - there are dog bins with poop disposal bags attached to them every 100 yards or so.

So it is a wonderful dog's life here. When the boys were playing golf Murdoch and I had another lovely walk up the mountain, on a path, and we never saw another person. One gets the feeling of space here.

So this photo is typical of his walk today. He is a bit wet from splashing in the streams, that brown mark on his side is from rolling in a large cow patty (urgh!!) and he is chewing a stick while he waits for me to take photos. He has got quite used to stopping while I take photos and does not complain like the rest of my family! It is difficult trying to take photos of him as he loves these walks and dashes around all over the place. There are some more photos here.

I watched the last episode of The White Queen and Top of The Lake last night - both very different and both very good. I wonder if there will be a series 2 of either show?
