Blue sky
Today the sky was perfectly blue and cloudless. Even on days like this there is usually a small puff of clouds hovering above the glacier, but today it was clear. I had to get a photo of this blue sky to remind me when I am back home and the grey of winter has set in!
Adam's friend left today to go home to England as the GSCE results come out tomorrow morning and he wanted to be at home when he got his results. With results coming out it will be another sleepless night for me I think!
This river used to have the most beautiful Silver Birch trees growing alongside it, and plenty of wild flowers, particularly Rosebay Willowherb. As a consequence of the major flood they had here in 2005, they removed every single tree and every scrap of vegetation so that the river could be widened and flood defences built. We keep hoping that they will plant more trees to replace those that were removed, as we feel it looks bare and rather bleak now.
