We were invited out to lunch today at The Whittington, the original manor house of Sir William de Whittington which was built in 1310. He was Dick Whittington's grandfather, allegedly. The place is now a pub in Kinver, Staffs and a group of about 20 of us had a very enjoyable celebratory meal. Afterwards we were treated to tea and cakes at Cath's daughter-in-law's
