Lady Of the Lake . . .
Lady takes her chair into the shallow end of Lake Ontario at Burlington this afternoon. Why? There's no room on the beach, which is all of 15ft wide. It's backed by high voltage pylons and the noise of main road traffic storming across the massive Skybridge that spans the entrance to Hamilton bay 100 yards behind. Good news: there's a hot dog cart 100 yards further along the Waterfront Trail, but watch out for high-speed cyclists and skateboarders.
After seeing this lot, I'm having second thoughts about Skegness in England, close to my home town, which was recently declared the most deprived seaside town in Britain . . . big beaches, Jolly Fisherman, fish and chips . . . heaven . . .
