Parque La Paloma

Ok, so technically this was taken on the way into the park, but it still counts! We are very lucky to have a beautiful park just across the road from our house. It's so lovely, we often see wedding parties having their pictures taken there.

Sunday is always a quiet day as the shops are all shut here. We had a very relaxed morning, and strolled halfway up town to a little parade of bars in a quieter part of town. It was my mission to have Paella while I'm here, but Mum isn't keen on it so we opted for some tapas instead. We sat outside at a little place we hadn't tried before, and had lovely peppers, and perfect Tinto de Verano's. We just sat, chilled, talked and people watched, before strolling home.

The internet is painfully slow here. We tried a different company (Orange) this time, but it was just as bad as Yoigo. Pages take forever to load, that is if they load at all. Very frustrating.

We decided to visit the park in the evening, and then hiked from the bottom of the park all the way into town to have our Tinto's at Volapie. We are becoming regulars :-)

A funny thing happened in the park. There are rabbits that run free, and children are always chasing them, the poor things. We were on our way out, and we saw this little boy of about 6, chasing the poor rabbit into a bush shouting "conejito"! He also had a package of spaghetti in his hand, partly opened ( what he had it for I can't imagine!). When he got close he threw the packet at the bunnies! We were just thinking what a little sod he was, when a man came walking past quite purposefully, took the little boy (his son, by all accounts) by the arm, and whacked him good and proper on the other while grabbing the now defunct spaghetti from him! That's what I love about the Spanish, they don't mind letting their kids know that they've overstepped the mark, even when they are in public!
