Big switch on

Tonight is the night of the Blackpool illuminations switch on.

For the first time the local council have decided to charge for people to see it.

The Script were due to headline but a family illness has meant they have pulled out. They have my full sympathy, having been through a similar experience.

Gary Barlow has stepped into the breach and saved the day.

I would quite like to see The Script, or Gary Barlow, and indeed the support act Eliza Doolittle.

But I'm no fan of the person pulling the switch.

These are my own version of illuminations.
