Fishing means Seagulls
Every holiday Tom is determined to go fishing and every year some calamity befalls the fishing trip - last year we did manage a quick mackerel fishing outing only to find that the fish had moved on due to a storm. This year however, it worked fine except it was his mum, not him, who caught the first fish (my first ever!) and it was a whopper of a mackerel, so large that the skipper took a picture of it. Then I caught another one and Tom started to worry that he wouldn't get anything. But, no fear, he pulled in two more big ones and we were all set for supper- freshly cooked with butter and lemon - delicious.
We fished off the coast near the lovely picturesque Penmon lighthouse and Puffin Island in glorious sunshine. As the fish were filleted on the way back the gulls hovered and swooped above us and Tom got this lovely shot.
Auntie B and Josh went on the Puffin Cruise although the puffins had moved on two weeks ago so it was more of a seal and assorted seabird cruise. Before that we'd had a leisurely wander around Beaumaris castle. On Beaumaris pier we watched people hauling in huge crabs, filling buckets with them, so the boys just had to have a go whilst I got a welcome half hour to mooch in the lovely craft shops.
