Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Early Morning Surfers -- Newport Beach

Mr. Fun went early to the shoreline--about 6:00. He wanted to watch as the full moon dropped into the ocean. While there he viewed the surfers headed in for their morning dance with the waves. Back in the day Mr. Fun used to do that too! He has asked if tomorrow or soon, I would go early to the waves with him. He believes there is something majestic about mornings. I have not cropped the photo or enlarged it because I thought some might like to see the whole scope of the beach with the Newport Pier off in the distance.

We've had a lovely day. We've stayed off the bicycle to let the muscles, tissues, and anything else of importance take a day of rest. We've spent the afternoon in the lovely grassy park just beyond the sand near the Balboa pier. Dogs are only allowed on the sand before 9:00 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Bob dog thought that seemed quite rude, but he decided to be a law abiding dog. The sunshine, the breeze, and "people-watching" were just great from the big lusious lawn. This has been a wonderfully relaxing afternoon.

Last night we had a fabulous time in Laguna Beach listening to "The Girls" band play at the Festival of Arts grounds. Once the music concluded and the crowd (who had purchased tickets) moved in to be seated to see the Pageant of the Masters, we wandered through the lovely display of art by local artists.

At the moment we are at the Balboa branch of the Newport Beach Library using the free WiFi--and they will be closing in just a few minutes. Wherever you are, we hope you are having a great moment. Thanks to all who comment even though I (at the moment) am not -- we are breathing in as much of this ocean experience as possible before our time here at the coast is over.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol (& Bob dog)
