East Greenland fishing fleet

Surprisingly, we saw no sign of any commercial fishing at Kulusuk or Tasliaq. There were a few locals who we saw wandering around with fishing rods, but on the whole there was very little fishing in evidence anywhere. The seagulls were pretty busy, but there were no fishing birds in evidence, so I guess the catch may not be all that great here at this time of year. There was no evidence of the daily fish market in Talisaq and no fishing boats lined up on the quay (as seen in old photographs). This was the only fishing boat I could find which looks like it is in need of a bit of love and attention.

The only local fish they served up for us in the hotel was some frozen wild salmon. Very nice, but a bit disappointing.
