Sun and clouds
This morning we dropped Thomas off at school for football training and Gavin and I enjoyed a walk with Murdoch at a nearby favourite spot called Sheepleas. It is about 20 miles south of London (as the crow flies) and on a clear day like today you can see the skyline of London including The Shard. Gavin had not been there before and was amazed that one could see so far. We then went out for coffee at a lovely little coffee shop in Ripley - Gavin had also not been there before and was impressed at how good the food was there and how charming and eclectic the café was - a far cry from your usual High Street coffee chain café.
This is a view of the farming area around Ripley - it was raining when we woke up, then sunny - but with ominous clouds building up, and here you can see those impressive clouds.
Now it is off for an afternoon of watching the older boys play rugby. Thankfully I am feeling much better as I did not want to miss Luke's first official match in the 1st XV. At his school which has such a strong tradition of excellent rugby it has been a dream for him to play in the firsts...he will be very proud to run onto the pitch today, as we will be.
