Olga the Fox

Watched Carlisle United today lose to Port Vale in the last minute of extra time. Sickening. The game throughout had the feeling of a nil, nil draw.

Their mascot is Olga the Fox who places a stuffed fox on the centre spot before every home game. I once watch a race between Mascots at Milton Keynes I believe but only ignominy resulted for Olga as she fell.

Carlisle have had a disastrous start to the season and are 3rd from the bottom of the league. Listening to the phone in on the way home showed that a lot of supporters want the manager sacked. They have yet to win at home since March. Attendances are falling, disenchantment is in the air. But he has a contract until next year and money is tight. The next game is also at home.
