Between fen and mountains

Juicy

I am going to have to do something with the figs. The tree is laden with them and there are more than we can eat just hanging over our wall. They are particularly sweet and juicy this year. The rain this morning was a bit of a surprise so I got on with admin tasks. I have provisionally booked a visit to the remains of the Camp de Riversaltes which is open once a year as part of the European heritage weekend. My brother and sister will be arriving and said they would be interested in going. The Camp was used as a Concentration camp during the war and many French Jews were deported from here. On Sunday the Hotel du Portugal, a fine Belle Epoque building, will be open to the public too.
