You'll be glad to hear...

...today has been a bit less confused than yesterday. Something that I'm sure you'll all be relieved about. Thanks to everyone for the comments on my 99 and 100 blip. Much appreciated, whatever order you viewed them in.

Our friends have just headed for the boat which will take them on the first leg of their journey South after having a great time.

A very brief visit, but they packed a lot in:
Folk festival gig
beer
walks along cliffs at Yesnaby
ice cream
various neolithic sites
wine
a Saturday night on the town in Kirkwall (not us, can't take the pace)
3am walk to the beach, accompanied by our neighbourhood seals (NB daylight at that time)
Sunday breakfast at my kids cafe - complete with chef and waiter with drawn on moustaches and beards. They even coughed up the cash when presented with the bill. (Although, the tip was of very Edinburgh proportions. J's words not mine)
stone skimming competition
more wine
teaching my kids dubious Swedish phrases
a drive by tour of the Orkney mainland.
and of course entertaining us with good conversation

Always sad to see friends leave.
