Quod oculus meus videt

Hairy (Ma)moth (expired)

Spent the day on exercise dealing with an air plane crash in a ficticious town called Ravenstown. A surreal 6 hours working along with blue light and other first responder services acting as the tactical group dealing with the first few hours after such a disaster occurs.

It is a credit to the various civil contingency units around the UK that when such disasters occur, the various organisations who respond to such emergencies are ready to deal with the aftermath.

By the time we finished we were all drained - it felt mighty real.

Anyway got home to find a moth on the study windowsill, sadly deceased. Decided to try a focus stack using the reversing mount and 28mm lens. This is a 5 shot stack, moving the lens using a focusing rail. I use the manfrotto 454 but find that there is a lot of play on the rail. If anyone has a recommendation for a rail which doesn't move around when screwing in or out please let me know..
