Park Run

Amy has been doing the Park Run every week, for a couple of months now. This event is a 5K run which is held every week in Bushy Park. Two weeks ago Amy completed her 10th run, and when you have reached this number, you are awarded with a special t-shirt. Enter James's interest into this event! He hasn't really shown any interest in doing it, until he realised that there was a reward for doing it!

So today was the day that he did his first Park Run. When we got there he started to get a little nervous. He knew that is was almost double the distance of the school Fun Run that he completed in June, but it didn't really sink in how far until he saw the course and how many people were there ready to take part (800 runners).

But any nerves he did have were soon gone when he heard the word "GO!" Off he went with Mark and he eventually finished the course in 32 minutes and was 691st out of 803 runners. Not bad really for a 7 year old, who doesn't run regularly!
