Sheena

Early morning stroll along the beach, with low cloud on the hills. It started to lift as we had our breakfast on the beach, as close to the sea as possible to avoid the midges.

Two of us decided to go up the hills with the optimistic view that it would clear. The other two chose a coastal walk.

Steep and fast ascent into the clag and sadly no view, it did break up and filled us with hope. We headed round the horseshoe with the second hill clear. This was the lull before the heavens opened, just as we reached the top.

A saturated walk out that made the waterfalls fantastic. Our spirits lifted at the thought of a hot cup of tea and cake at the tea room.

We met the other 2 at the bridge with the news that there was no power so no tea. AAAAAAAAAhhhhh, they were cutting back trees and the power was off in the area.

As we reached the tea room the power came back, this was early probably as the lads wanted to watch the football, they are now wishing they continued tree cutting.

Sheena's tea room now open , a cup of tea and home made gingerbread followed by my pack lunch. Sheena allowed us to use her washing line to dry out clothes and my map with the sun arriving.

Over the pass for tea and back to midge heaven and a good night sleep.
