Look mum, I can see behind me!

It took a while for me to get out today. The blustery weather meant I waited for a suitable window of bright and dry conditions. Even then the wind meant taking photos was a little challenging.

But I was determined to get out for some fresh air - and it certainly was fresh!

It was all about the birds at Trentham this afternoon. I watched a small group of young goldfinches pick seeds from decayed flower heads (collective noun is a charm). There are still a few swallows (CN - flight) swooping around. Both Canada and Greylag geese (CN - gaggle) seem to be gathering, may be to fly off for the Winter? And I saw this mother and young Great Crested Grebe (CN - water dance) swimming around at the edge of the lake.

I really enjoyed my walk and my reconnection with my local wildlife haven.
