A pyjama day with rain!
No, I didn't spend the day in pyjamas although looking out at the weather this morning, I felt like it! After watching Jeremy Vile, I thought I'd better risk going out and as mom said she wouldn't bother going out again today, I decided to get all the tedious stuff out of the way and go to Boots and M&S for bathroom stuff etc. to take to Edinburgh on Thursday.
I was blown up the road into Marks and Spencers and got myself some new pyjamas! They are quite glamorous and silky for a change. If my lovely A-Haven Hotel got evacuated in the dead of night or I get run over by a bus, I wouldn't want to be seen wearing my British Home Stores teddy bear pyjamas! I'm blushing at the mere thought of it! The lady behind the counter remarked 'They are very glamorous!' as she peered down her nose at me dressed totally in black looking like a chimney sweep's mop with my windswept hair. 'I presume you'd like a gift receipt?' she asked.
Sigh! I shook my head, paid for my hospital pyjamas and trudged back out into the rain. Up the road I went into Boots where I got all the usual stuff - travel sized contact lens solutions, lotions and potions etc - and was delighted to find a shower gel, shampoo and conditioner all in one! Well, you have to take pleasure in little things, don't you? We girlies like our travel luxuries rather than use the hotel stuff. It'll all do for my London course too even the pyjamas. In theory, I am much more likely to be run over in London than Edinburgh.
I headed back home after that, the combined weight of my shopping bags and the bags under my eyes kept me firmly on the ground in the howling gale.
I turned the corner into Savoy Park and the closer I got to the house I could hear yelling in the distance. It was a familiar sound. Mom was on the phone to Dot who lives in the apartments in the block next door. Mom always yells down the phone as if trying to reach Australia. She passed the phone to me as soon as I got through the door and I had a quick chat with Dot who is insisting on taking me to the bus or train station on Thursday, whichever way I decide to go. It's only a short walk up the road but if the weather is still like this, I might be glad of a lift.
That's all for today. I wrote my book review which I will post tomorrow and then I dozed through the afternoon. I decided not to go out again to get a picture deciding to show you my new pyjamas instead.
