A day at the races

Alison and I went to Brighton Races today - we got dressed up and had tickets which got us into the paddock and premier grandstand. We had a great time watching the horses before the races, and choosing which ones to bet on. After the first race we got talking to a guy who's friend had a horse in the second race, and he took us into the paddock with him. We met both the jockey and the trainer, and saw the horse who was called Green Earth. We said we'd put a bet on, but the trainer told us not to bother as it wasn't running very well at the moment - it ended up coming third so it didn't do too bad!

We had a great day, it was lots of fun and I got two second places and two winners - not bad for a first time! This shot was taken at the final race of the day and was won by The Strig. One of my second place horses was called Nice Arty, and I bet on this in remembrance of my dad (Arthur),

Anyway, we had a great day and came home with money in our pocket!
