Needless to say I had a smile on my face when this news was announced! About time we had a woman on our banknotes!

I love Jane Austin and her stories of the times of old. I tend to get lost in her worlds of make believe that yet somehow manage to echo into the real world around her and even the world we live in today! Both the girls and the guys could learn a thing or two from her characters - perhaps not fashion tips, but maybe manners and how to treat each other!

I've now realised that the past few blips have featured 2 of Britain's greatest literacy minds - Shakespeare and Austin!
