Perspective

16.1C with bright spells and one or two light showers in the afternoon. Light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. Less breeze than yesterday so it felt warmer. As we walked down the bridle path towards the shore we could see a big ship out at sea towards Arbroath. I looked it up on AIS once we got home. It was the tanker Overseas Portland, at anchor and awaiting a berth in Dundee. 62 thousand tons and 250m x 44m.

Down on the beach the tide was fully in and there wasn't much beach left to walk on. We walked along the edge of the water and Maeve dodged the little waves.

When we got to the car park at Westhaven we stopped for a look out to sea. I thought it was interesting that the huge tanker out at sea appeared to be the same size as the small boats close to shore. I also like the dark on the sea under the rather threatening cloud.

There was a light shower as we walked home but not heavy enough to stop the mowing of the back lawns later in the afternoon.
