Where did the day go?

Have spent most of the day working out how to get data from our Remedy system without it being subject to a views that masks the raw data. The simple thing would be to get direct SQL access into the data, but, apparently, we're not allowed.

Our BOXI universe passes you through several joins (across the live data!) before you get anything. Existing Remedy forms are already pre-filtered so exports from there don't work. We can't get direct ODBC access using MS Access even though we can see the tables - every query returns "Database options will not allow unqualified queries" despite all attempts at queries are qualified.

It was nice at the end of the day to stop banging ones head against the IT constructed brick wall. We only want a copy of the data to work on!!!!

Frustrating is not the word.

But, stepping out the office the sun welcomed you back into something approaching walk. The dog here is stood waiting for his master to catch up.
