Blackberries and Comma

What a lovely hot afternoon, summer reappearing briefly!  The grass seed is being planted in the couple of fields after a short delay.  The seed merchant sent us the wrong bags and we discovered yesterday there were no Clover seeds to be seen in the mix.  Fortunately they could get the right mix delivered today and it arrived at midday.  The boys and N are all out planting or preparing the ground for drilling.  Tess our JR terrier took herself down to the farmyard looking for a ride in a tractor.  Luckily J was there and about to depart when he saw her smiling up at him so he's taken her for a ride!  T worked all night until five o'clock this morning, it shows how determined we are that we get things right after two bad harvests.  Just  hope the weather will be kind to us.

I espied this Comma butterfly in the garden hedge and took ages trying to photograph it as it would not keep its wings open for long but preferred to show its underside which looks like a dead leaf with a small white "c" tattoo on each wing.
