A year in Canada

Day 38 – Confederation Bridge, Prince Edward Isl.

The 8 mile long Confederation Bridge was built in 1997 and links Prince Edward Island with New Brunswick. The toll is a hefty $45 CAD, but you only pay to depart the island, never to enter. The same goes for the ferries from Nova Scotia, so even though $45 seems like a lot of money, we did get a ferry ride for free! This photo was taken on a wet misty day, so the quality is not great.

After crossing the bridge, we headed back down to Wentworth, Nova Scotia to our hostel for the night. The hostel was a big old house in the middle of the forest with a grand staircase and squeaky floorboards. We were the only guests for the night…a little bit scary for Friday the 13th!!
