Enjoying a Little Sparkle
With the overwhelming sadness of the past several weeks, I haven't been captivated or even preoccupied with photo taking. So this afternoon when I opened the slider door on the side of the formal dining room and flipped the switch on the fountain, I was just mainly letting some fresh air into this house. A few moments later I noticed the splash, the sparkle, and the surprise of it swooped me, not off my feet, but into a mini-moment of fun.
It's not the best scene with some of the dryness of summer still in evidence, but the fountain has brought us many hours of listening pleasure over the years of living here and today it offered a frivolous moment -- the wonder of light.
After I sign-out here, I'll add in some of the recent thoughts that our friend Randy has posted on FaceBook. It is a privilege that he is giving his friends a look into the world that he has been thrown into as he deals with the recent death of his wife, Stephanie.
Good night from Southern California,

P.S. This Randy's early morning post today on Stephanie's Memorial Page:
"Was at the store today -- a lady in plaid shirt, short brunette, and about Stephie's size and build -- wearing levis and some old boots was in the cosmetics lane. God, for a minute I was sure it was her. Took a bit to get to school afterward, couldn't breathe well."
P.P.S. Then later in the day he posted some fun memories:
"Stephie loved her gymnastics. I all but was shut out of her life when gymnastics or ice skating were on tv. She loved to do her handstands in every town we went too. Once in Austria on student trip -- day 8 of 15 -- she did one right by the Olympic Venue in Innsbruk. She impressed all the kids with her ability, until she face planted on the grass and began laughing so hard she had to go change her clothes; Silly girl."
