a Welsh aqueduct
0r... it's a long way down.
A day of 3 parts. Weather dry but grey throughout.
First a short walk to, and along, the Offa's Dyke path. At the start of the footpath I was taking a photo when a dog (no owner) barked, growled and stared at me. I walked away and it followed... and barked and growled. Eventually it stopped and fortunately there was an alternative return route. I then walked into a photo shoot - one guy with camera and massive lens plus two others dressed in full hiking kit. They had only strayed 50 metres from the road then drove off in their 4x4.
This afternoon we drove to the Ty Mawr Country Park and walked to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. There's a walkway across but guess who chickened out after a short distance. Can't believe it - I'm not frightened of water (or heights) and until 2 years ago regularly perched on the edge of swimming pools teaching for local club and school.
J+J arrived at lunchtime. When we got back this afternoon they had a chicken cooking, veg prepared and were in the hot tub! The cottage owner has been round with a lemon drizzle cake. It's a high calorie evening. Lucky I've done 2 walks :)
