Clouded yellow
We've been so lucky with the weather on this late summer break. We went for another walk along the coast starting from the Cap de Carteret and going out on to the amazing dunes. We started off in fleeces as it was a bit grey and windy but within a few minutes the sun came out and we were hot again.
The ivy flowers were attracting huge numbers of insects - bees, flies and lots of butterflies. I could have watched the activity all morning. We walked to a viewpoint over the dunes and were able to appreciate the lunar-like landscape fully from the vantage point.
Had another paddle on our way back - the sole of my left foot seems to hurt in shoes or boots after a while but was problem free when I was sloshing my way through the small waves at the edge of the sea.
This plant on the dune edge was still flowering and was covered in fast moving butterflies - blues, whites, yellows and red admirals.
