A long day, but worth it

My favorite travel companion and I have been going since 4am, and not being accustomed to rising so early, I'm falling-over-exhausted right now. It was well worth the effort because we're now in one of the most beautiful spots, in a friend's remarkably beautiful condo, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Dinner was an outdoor buffet right on the ocean. Despite the ocean's breeze, the air was thick and heavy with heat and humidity, perfect for cold beer and margaritas. We both sensed and enjoyed the relaxed, almost languid, quiet atmosphere of this al fresco restaurant, still pinching ourselves in wonder that we even have the fortune to be here at all.

Though it's "early" by my usual standards, it's time for much-needed sleep in preparation for new explorations in the morning.
