The Bean

It's official name is Cloud Gate, but the locals call it the bean because that's what it looks like - a giant silver bean in Millennium Park. Went up the Willis Tower (Sears Tower) and we both stood on the glass ledge that sticks out of the face of the building, 110 floors above the street. Wow! Didn't know if I would be able to make myself do it, but it was really cool after the first 30 seconds or so. Walked along the lakefront to one of Chicago's beaches and paddled in Lake Michigan. The water was chilly but our "dogs were barking" so the cool water felt great. Chicago style deep dish pizza last night, at a renowned spot - wasn't quite the transformational pizza experience we were told to expect. The pizza was very good, but not the best we've ever had. Chicago is a great town though - if the winters weren't so severe we could live here; but they most certainly are, so that will never happen.
