Loungeless

Turns out the joists under the original floor were fairly rotten so we had to take the lot up and the fella will replace them all - good job he's so handy at DIY. Also took the hall laminate up - is so nice for it all to have gone. Meant we had to do 3 trips to the tip to get rid of everything. So glad I didn't like the laminate as we've found all sorts of issues under it that we can sort but that would have got worse if we hadn't found them. And surprised myself by actually enjoying it - I'm a good builders mate and was mainly put to work carrying things and making cuppas.

Went to see mum and dad tonight - they've been on holiday loads recently and that plus my work travel meant we hadn't spoken in 4 weeks and not seen each other in ages so was great to catch up. Sounds like they had an awesome holiday.

A very different kind of weekend to one I would have enjoyed a few years ago but it was great. I'm definitely getting old.
