Mop Heads

Not quite sure what these are. I saw them in the dunes a week ago and struggled to autofocus on them with my compact so I took my SLR out today. I call them mop heads because of their lovely fluffy heads. They grow alongside a different version where the heads are more spiky. I just thought they are lovely and delicate. Light levels were poor all day but this probably made it easier to avoid burnt out highlights. I will be intereseted if anyone can identify them.

It appears this is clematis vitalba or Old Mans Beardt
