Forest School
So entries will be happening a bit randomly for a little while - if I don't write my journal, I will forget everything so I need to forget trying to get it all in order, in order to get anything written at all!!
Monday. A new home-ed group, and Forest school. A full day out in Grappenhall. A good day!
The new Warrington Home Edders group met in the morning at the Library and because we know a few of the Warrington lot (despite having never lived in or especially near Warrington) we went along too. Bean loved it, I didn't see much of him! Bear took a while to warm to the place and be convinced I wasn't going anywhere, but he enjoyed himself too. We did junk modelling and I made a rocket pack for Bean. He LOVED it!! Haha. Bear got a rocket ship to zoom around but he seems to like pulling the green tissue paper off of it more than playing with it. Really enjoyable morning!
Then off to find somewhere to have a picnic lunch, and eventually we gave up trying to find somewhere "suitable" and just parked at the pub where we'd park anyway for Forest School. The carpark backs on to the primary school playground and of course it was lunchtime and of course the entire school (or so it seemed) was out there racing around and screaming and hollering and generally letting off all the steam that is necessary from being in classrooms too long. Bean didn't like it, he announced I'd not found a very good place for our picnic, it was too noisy and he didn't like it at all. Well, I said, be grateful I'm not sending you to school!! To which he replied But I like school! Hmm. Well, he can choose to go in a couple of years' time if he wants to. But not yet.
Just as we were about to set off to get Bear to sleep for a nap before Forest School I thought I'd better check what time it started, and I'm glad I did because we would have missed the start otherwise! Mark was just pulling into the carpark as we all got out of the car to go round to the front so we got to go through the school with him. Again, barely saw Bean during Forest School!! And he said he didn't want to go either ;) Hehe. He has made some friends both at the Home Ed group and at Forest School. It's kinda sad that we've only got one session remaining with each of those groups before we move again. Bear enjoyed Forest School as well! He was tired as he'd not had a nap, but he did have an explore and he met Scales the Dragon and had a toasted marshmallow and a cup of hot chocolate. He especially loved the hammock.
They both fell asleep on the way home. I have worn our children out ;)
