The Log Pile again
Took Daddy to the Log Pile this afternoon! He got home late last night, so I took the boys to church this morning to let him get some extra sleep. It was nice waking up with him in the bed, even if he was asleep. I packed another picnic and bundled everyone into the car and off we went again, making the most of another beautiful day. Of course everyone else had thought similar and this time the carpark was packed!
Straight to the Log Pile to play though. It's been amazing seeing Bean's confidence in climbing and balancing and jumping grow so incredibly this weekend, with all the free running he's been allowed to do.
They enjoyed following each other through the undergrowth - the photo shows them watching a tiny frog they found, hopping off into the ferns to safety. They were fascinated!
Another icecream, sitting on the lawn outside the House; and then two sad piglets to take home again - they wanted to play and play. On the way back to the car they went running underneath the biiiig lime trees and Bean tripped and fell, brushing his hand across a patch of nettles :( Poor kid, I've not heard him scream like that very often. No dock leaves anywhere near, so we carried them back to the car where Steve spotted a bunch of dock plants growing over the far side of the car park. God Bless the dock plant and its amazing anti-nettle-sting properties. Bean's hand was "almost better" by the time we reached home, having kept the juicy pulp on his stings. It was sufficiently better to not need any "proper" medicine for it!
