After; bloodied but unbowed

I took the pads off my eyes when I woke up after a long sleep. Red and bloody but two equal eyes and no annoying permanent shadow across my vision. Thank you wonderful surgeons and nurses especially the one who held my hand throughout which was very reassuring. I expected pain but my eyes feel OK though I feel generally slightly shaky and in a lovely restful recovery mode.
