The Big Boy

I would love to say that I was able to sneak up on this elk, and snap away. But...that would be a lie.

The big elk was in a huge fenced-in enclosure in Gaylord, Michigan. They were fairly close to us...because that's where the hay was.

But still...a wonderful animal.

We are spending the night in Mackinaw City, Michigan. The small city is 235 miles from our house. It is the city where the Mackinac Bridge is located. The big bridge connects the Lower and Upper Peninsulas of Michigan. We have a view of the bridge from our hotel.

On the way up, we saw some pretty Autumn color, bought some pumpkins, and viewed the elk.

Plus...I had my pastie fix. It is a meat pie filled with beef, potatoes, onions, and rutabaga. Yummy.
