ICE HOUSE

I am not sure if this is the best view – but it looked the best one of my images. Can you tell what it is . . .
Just by the City Walls in York, this is a nearly complete Ice House.

Used by larger houses in Victorian times they were used to store ice as an early refrigerator. This one is rather grand, being surrounded by accessible steps, although it could be mistaken for a small prison !

Hope you all have a grand weekend.
