Birthday

Went out at lunchtime in search of a birthday cake and present for ever patient husband. Managed the cake but failed on the present front. I've been trying to find a cherry tree for the front garden to replace the one on the verge that was cut down recently. Choosing the best one is proving to be tricky. Need to do some more internet searching and possibly sort out a visit to Wisley to their plant shop.

Got down to the ground floor on my way home only to remember that the cake was still sitting on the bookshelf behind my desk. Charged back up three flights of stairs, back down again and still made it to my train (just).

Waited at the station to meet up with Son number one. He's back from Sheffield for the weekend for a haircut and to see the England match at Wembley.

Back home for pizza, birthday cake, cards and a little token present. Watched 'Sharknado' - possibly one of the silliest films ever but great for a relaxing evening with the whole family.
