Lady Peaceful

Cowdray Hall is in Easebourne on the edge of Midhurst. It has a small chapel for meditation and contemplation. I was there today for the first Mind Body and Spirit Festival to be held there. Lovely atmosphere.

Lady Marina Cowdray, wife of Lord Cowdray whose yellow painted houses have featured in my journal, has made wonderful sculptures for the chapel and hall. The Meditator is a slim Buddha-like figure, but more to my taste is Lady Peaceful, found in the chapel, a copy of a larger bronze statue. Her work often has a spiritual quality and reflects her internal life. This represents the qualities and benefits of silence.
