Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

After Work

When I got home from the campus, Mr. Fun was home ahead of me. I immediately headed up the stairs to change into cooler clothes. It was warm today with a high of 84 degrees. Autumn brings us chilly nights and hot days. So in cooler clothes I came back down the stairs to head outside to sit with Mr. Fun and just relax and catch-up with his day.

So after the ordeal of the Emergency Room yesterday, I asked about his mom and he said he had spoken with her today and that she was very chatty and wanted to talk and talk. His bad news is that she has a doctor's appointment for Thursday afternoon at 3:00. We were supposed to leave here Thursday mid-day for a long weekend on the Central Coast. So we've decided that we will still go, but we'll wait to leave until early, early Friday morning -- that is not my favorite time of day, but maybe we'll get to see the night turn into day. It's been a long time since we've been on the highway at that time.

At the hospital yesterday Mr. Fun was put in touch with a social worker to help him solve some of the problems of dealing with his mom. When he goes to the doctor with his mom in two days, he is hoping that the doctor will address some of the difficulties that Mr. Fun has been dealing with regarding his mom. The social worker is suppose to get some of the information to the doctor before the appointment. We know that his mom should not be living alone, but she absolutely refuses to even consider living somewhere other than her home. At times it seems like she is determined to be obstinate and difficult.

Good night from Southern California.
