Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

A long and WIDE day!

Mr. Fun and I were driving toward home middle day when his cell phone rang and now with the new Honda CR-V, his phone rings in the technology of the car. It was his mom calling to explain that she was in her kitchen and looked down and realized that she was standing in a pool of blood. She had something similar happen the other day, only today she sounded VERY panicked, out-of-breath, and downright scary. Mr. Fun's mom is going to be 91 on November 2. She is getting more and more frail.

So we continued toward home to drop me off and then he made a quick drive across town to his mom's home. When he arrived a younger gal was there assisting his mom. The younger gal is the daughter of one of Grammie Fun's girlfriends. This younger gal had dialed 911. The ambulance arrived quickly.

Mr. Fun phoned me after Grammie was gone in the ambulance. He said he was so thankful for the Fire Dept folks who arrived with the ambulance and they cleaned-up the blood. He said it absolutely looked like someone had been murdered in the kitchen and he was very thankful that I had not accompanied him there to witness the awful scene.

After many hours in the Emergency Room, the doctor sent Grammie home with a tightly wrapped ankle. She has a sore, something like a bed-sore, but not a bed-sore, on her ankle. We don't know if she bumped her ankle or what, but the sore bled and bled.

She is not a good patient. She's bossy, grumpy, and does not receive advice. With every move she makes, she is in pain. Mr. Fun was not sure how he would get her in his car to get her home. He phoned me to converse about getting a medical transport. I was in agreement, even though I had no idea how much money that would cost. One of the male hospital aides got her in Mr. Fun's Honda CR-V car.

Lorraine, a gal who has stayed with Grammie Fun before, is spending the night with her. Mr. Fun was gone from 12:30 until about 7:30 this evening. He was pooped when he arrive back home.

So we'll see what tomorrow brings. We are scheduled to leave here mid-day on Thursday to go to the Central Coast for a long weekend. So at the moment, our plans are pending. If we need to stay home we will.

It's been a LONG and WIDE day for Mr. Fun.

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
